Mako Total Hip—direct anterior

OR layout: left hip

Guidance Module

The guidance module, operated by the MPS, should be placed outside of the sterile field, ideally in view of the surgeon.

Camera

It is recommended the camera be placed between 11 o’clock and 1 o’clock (with the head of the table being 12 o’clock). The camera must have a direct and unobstructed view of the arrays.

Sterile staff

OR personnel should not block the camera.

Surgeon

The surgeon must be positioned on the operative side.

Mako

The Mako should be placed on the operative side, aligned with the patient’s ASIS and acetabulum. The approach angle of the Mako should be at 45 degrees. This may be adjusted based on surgeon stance, table height, patient size and other OR equipment.
