Surgeon

The surgeon is in control of the robotic-arm and makes decisions based on his or her own experience and professional judgment, as well as data from the Mako System. The surgeon also directs the Mako Product Specialist (MPS) throughout the case.

Pre-op:

  • Orders a CT scan of the patient per the protocol
  • Reviews and approves the pre-op plan with the MPS

Intra-op:

  • May register the Mako System (if preferred)
  • Directs the MPS throughout the case
  • Uses the Mako System to gather data and adjust plan as needed
  • Controls the robotic-arm during the procedure
