Mako Product Specialist (MPS)

Pre-op:

  • Accesses and reviews CT scan and confirms it was done according to the protocol
  • Uses segmentation to create the virtual model and pre-op plan. Depending on the Mako procedure, the pre-op plan may be created by Stryker's segmentation team
  • Reviews the pre-op plan with the surgeon prior to the case
  • Leads an in-service with the OR staff prior to the first case

Day of, prior to case:

  • Ensures the Mako System is in the OR and all instrumentation and implants are available and ready to go
  • Performs pre-surgery checks on the Mako System

Intra-op:

  • Navigates through the Mako System screens throughout the case
  • Answers technical questions throughout the case, as needed
  • May advise surgeon on bone registration per the surgical technique
  • Takes direction from the surgeon to modify the plan intra-operatively, where required
  • Troubleshoots as needed

Post-op:

  • Archives case information
  • Disassembles and stores the Mako System
